Belgian Jan Van Den Herrewegen defeated top seed Chris Fuller in a thrilling encounter to land the Sutton Coldfield International.
Second seed Van Den Herrewegen won the fifth game 12-10 to take the title after seeing Fuller come back from two games down to level.
The opening stages were tight but the Belgian managed to edge it 11-9. He extended his lead with an 11-6 victory in the second but Fuller came out in the third with more attacking purpose, starting to use the boast as an attacking weapon and threatening the front court much more.
Whilst Van Den Herrewegen was still getting everything back, he started to become a bit more ragged with Fuller taking the third game 11-6. The fourth followed a similar pattern with Fuller now controlling the play to level with an 11-6 game.
A see-saw fifth saw the Belgian earn three match balls but eventually Fuller found the tin to hand his opponent the victory.
